How to block typing special characters into the search box

Fine solution for this problem is to use limitkeypress jquery plugin and add this script code:

$(elementId).limitkeypress({ rexp: /^[\xDF\xDC\xFC\xD6\xF6\xC4\xE4\w\s\-\+\&\/]+$/ });

Forbidden characters are defined by regular expression. This definition in example do not allow  "umlauts, space, tab, – , + , &, /  "
